I can’t log in, the computer says the username or password is incorrect
If you are unable to login, off campus please reset your password online or visit the student helpdesk in the city or Rotokauri hub. Alternatively phone ext 0800 587 500 to reset by phone support.
Cannot log in to any PC, it shuts down automatically, just after I log in
Simultaneous logins are not permitted in the hub, to allow everyone to be able to use a computer and to help protect your Wintec computer account. Make sure to remember to log off the computer when you have finished using it. If you are unable to login elsewhere in the hub, contact the student helpdesk.
If you have forgotten your password, you will need to reset it online or by visiting the student helpdesk in the city or Rotokauri hubs.
Account lockouts occur when an incorrect password has been entered 3 times in a row. Your account will unlock itself 30 minutes after the last attempt. If you need your account unlocked, visit the student helpdesk, or phone 0800-587-500.
Why do we have to change our password after every 180 days?
Password changes every 180 days are a requirement by our IT auditing firm. As Wintec is a Government Institution, we are bound by certain criteria, including the security of our IT network and any staff and student accounts. This may be similar to your online banking account, where a password must be changed after so many months for security reasons.
